The Tiny but Mighty Guide to Self-Discovery

Warning: This tiny but mighty guide is for people with the guts to look within to achieve success. If you’re looking for excuses outside yourself, and trying hard to avoid failure. This is not for you.

Welcome to your life - You have 5% chances of success

Seriously? 33%? You gotta be kidding me…

Well, according to the Harris Poll® Happiness index, only 33% American are very happy.

How does that number feel? A little low for my taste. Let’s look at other statistics…

  • The American Psychological Association states that in western cultures 90% of people is married by 50, 40 to 50% will divorce. Do you want to go for a second chance? the rate is even higher!
  • According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, only 68.3% of students who graduated high school in 2011 were enrolled in college and, 43% did it in a community college
  • The SAT Report on College & Career Readiness reported that only 43% of SAT® takers in the class of 2012 graduated from high school with the level of academic preparedness associated with a high likelihood of college success
  • According to the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities, the top 1% of Americans control 43% of the financial wealth while the bottom 80% control only 7% of the wealth
  • The U.S. Department of Commerce, Bureau of Census says the failure rate of Small business is 85% in the first year, 70% in the second year and, even if you’re past the 4 year mark, your chances of failing are still more than half
  • You have time for one more? The percentage of college Basketball players that make it to the NBA is around 1%

Why we're giving away a book that might make you uncomfortable

I can see it now, you’re either going to hate me or you’re going to thank me.

I think I just wrote the most uncomfortable book ever.

Why? Well… this is not exactly a “how-to” book. In fact, if you look at it from the same perspective you look at all other books, which is to learn something or get specific answers, you are going to be frustrated.

I have witness people breakdown from childhood and adolescent traumas. When someone died, left you or hurt you. That doesn’t get washed away that easy.

Many of us often feel we have the potential to do more–and many of us also feel there is something holding us back. Read More

How Fear Works Inside Us And The Simple Formula To Overcome It

2013 it’s here and, who doesn’t have some type of resolution, goal, or dream?

As an entrepreneur and a mother, I’m starting the year with some electrifying, AND terrifying plans. When I think of some of the things I want to achieve in life and what I need to do to reach them, I can easily freeze in panic.

It goes something like this:

My dreams =)

What if…? (ouch!)

Maybe is not a good idea after all… I won’t have the time to do it… Maybe I’m not ready for this…

Who are you? Despite all the unfortunate events in your life. Because if I see you today, perhaps all I see is your smile and somehow perfect life. But I cannot see your wounds. The ones you hide deep inside, nor can you see mine. You can’t see how much I suffered when I came to this country when I was 11 years old. You can’t see the fear I felt the first time someone threatened to hit me in school because I didn’t belong. You can’t see my mournful heart when my father told me I didn’t exist. You can’t see any of that…for some crazy reason all you see is me and who I chose to be.

We all carry a backpack of hard times. What makes us special is that we have the free will to choose what we give to others. We all have the possibility to heal our past, be our best, and find gratitude in the shitty times =).

What you can do…

  • Grab your journal and write down everything that needs to come out. Don’t worry about grammar! just let it all out. Even drawing, or doodles will do the job.
  • Take a long walk in nature and cry it all out
  • Once you forgive yourself  make yourself a cup of tea, and find the time to forgive those who left a nasty mark

This is one of  the best gifts you can give yourself for the new era.

Feel free to share what works for you when you have to heal those nasty wounds.
